CONSTRUCTION CAMERAS 101

There are always times that you can’t be on the jobsite. Whether you’re on the move or working remote, visual data systems are helping the construction industry stay connected to their projects. Even when there are unexpected roadblocks in your way, OxBlue construction cameras can help capture every moment of progress on the jobsite.

In our series, we take a close look at the features and functions that are fundamental to construction cameras by discussing:

HARDWARE SYSTEMS

Quality construction camera solutions combine the functionalities of webcams, still photography and security surveillance with the ability to view live photos or video from anywhere in the world via a tablet, smartphone or laptop. When evaluating camera hardware, look for a professional-grade system that is dressed for construction and ready when you are.

Professional-grade cameras have resolution clarity and wide viewing angles to capture jobsite activity in clear sight. They are protected with an ultra-durable enclosure designed to withstand harsh environments and inclement weather. Consistently reliable, they’re supported with robust communication and operation features; like steady cellular connections, high-streaming bandwidth, and both electrical and solar power capability so you are always up and running.

There are three main types of construction camera systems you should know about.

Fixed-position Cameras
Securely positioned in one place, these cameras offer the highest resolution and widest viewing angles.

Pan-Tilt-Zoom Cameras (PTZ)
Robotic, these cameras allow you to remotely-control a 360° view of your jobsite. PTZ cameras include true optical zoom, take panoramic progress photos and can often stream video.

Indoor Cameras
Small and lightweight, indoor cameras have an exceptionally wide field of view and are easy to mount or move on sites with electrical and support structures already in place.
