Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the best place to mount my camera?

Email your customer support representative with your site plan and project address. We’ll help provide professional recommendations for optimal placement.

How many people do I need for installation?

Most products can be installed with the help of 1 - 2 people. Equipment is heavy, and may need to be installed using forklifts or telehandlers. Consult with your customer service representative for specific recommendations.

Will OxBlue install my camera?

We can help coordinate third-party installation services across the U.S. to help get your camera up and running. Please reach out to customer support up to one week in advance for additional installation options at (888) 849-2583 (Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm EST).

Why is the blue light on the camera blinking?

The camera’s light will blink blue when it’s time to connect to the cellular service. Please call customer support at (888) 849-2583 (Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm EST).

Why is my camera’s power going in and out?

CAT 5 power cables are sensitive and need to be fully pushed in and connected to power the camera. Always test your power connection before mounting your camera and ensure all cables are tightly connected as instructed.

Will my solar panels work in the shade or during bad weather?

Shade, shadows and storms can impact the output of your panels. Make sure your solar panels are in full sun. All units include a 5-day battery backup to accommodate inclement weather.

What are the mounting options for construction cameras?

We offer a robust selection of mounting options, compatible with a range of cameras and needs. Primarily all cameras include a universal wall & pole mount, which includes band clamps, for easy attachment to a pole. We provide options with and without ballasts and self-contained units with heights ranging up to 30ft.

However, there are several exterior mount options such as: mobile trailers, telescopic crank tower, non-penetrating roof mounts, and interior mounts. Traditionally, non-penetrating roof mounts are best on nearby buildings where a pole isn't present. Other mount types, like the telescopic crank tower or mobile trailers, are self-contained systems designed specifically for a camera.

Interior projects, or projects where a wall is available, come in a variety of sizes and shapes; such as a parapet (curved arm), or straight arm for a ceiling, or a tripod to move throughout the building. Our solar-powered camera systems include the same universal mounting materials needed for simple pole installs, but have a variety of exterior all-in-one options; like a mobile trailer or telescopic crank tower.

Regardless of the solution needed, we have a nationwide third-party network of installation professionals that can help ensure the camera is mounted precisely as needed.
