      The Insider's Perspective on Marketing

Marketing. It’s a blanket term for a litany of jobs and most people have no idea exactly what goes on in the department. Also, most wouldn’t consider that marketing opportunities are available in the construction industry. So, for this week’s installment in careers in construction, we’re taking a look into the marketing department.

Each day our marketing team comes together to further the OxBlue brand and introduce the company to those who might not yet be familiar with it. Everyone plays a different, but integral role to the team. Through design, video, copy, and digital, we spread the word about construction time-lapse cameras and how they can help you change the way you see your job site.

      Creating Brand Identity

Marketing serves as the introduction to the company through coordinated team efforts. From case studies to video, each person’s responsibilities build off the other. Copywriting represents the driving ideation of content or the springboard for others to run with. Design and video flesh out those ideas by crafting a visual to the story. Digital then takes that product and sends it to the most relevant group of people.

All of this is accomplished with the goal of bringing a consistent brand message to the public. The best brands know who they are and understand how to convey that in marketing, advertising, and public relations. Everyone trusts the messaging and works to find the best ways to advance it.

      The Cutting Room Floor

The video side of the team creates Professionally Produced time-lapse videos for our clients. The team of trained video editors and cinematographers who go through every image from a project and select the best ones to construct a seamless video of your project. They also create in-house content for OxBlue to use in marketing materials like client testimonials or how to videos.

      Illustration and Prose

Graphic design and copywriting must work closely together to create the best final product. It’s a fluid process with collaboration and ideas often bouncing around. Campaigns take multiple people pulling together to craft something that they are proud of and want to show the public.

The process almost always starts with copy, and in an ideal situation is finalized before a graphic designer receives the project. However, this is not always the case and copy and design need to be adaptable and prepared to make changes that improve the project. They also need to have a strong backbone and can defend their professional opinions about their work.

      Let’s get digital

Digital marketing for many is a term just as vague as marketing. At OxBlue, digital marketing includes a lot of data, analyzing, and emails. The mountains and even molehills of data are used to help direct marketing efforts, so the entire team knows which audience to target and how to grab their attention.

Together, all these individuals create a unit that can’t properly function if one piece is missing. Each of us represents our respective fields and we learn and grow from each other to strengthen OxBlue’s brand. So next time you see one of OxBlue’s emails, watch one of our videos, or read a case study, you’ll know that we’re creating and delivering the content that you want to see in your inbox.

The marketing team loves meeting other talented individuals, so if you’re interested in becoming part of the team, apply here.
