ATLANTA, JANUARY 8, 2015 – From Alaska to Australia, OxBlue construction cameras are used around the world to monitor construction projects. High-resolution images and high-definition time-lapse videos document virtually every moment of construction and, together with OxBlue’s easy-to-use tools, provide a window to the job site that allows viewers to remotely monitor projects. One OxBlue camera is currently at work on a project much closer to the construction webcam provider’s Atlanta headquarters and very close to the hearts of the community served by The Drake House, a Roswell-Ga. an agency that provides emergency housing and support to single mothers and their children.

The Drake House Expansion Project adds 1,000 square feet to the 16-unit apartment complex, and is being carried out in partnership with HomeAid Atlanta, the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association; Vincent Longo Custom Builders, who specialize in hand-crafted custom homes and renovations; and an impressive roster of Atlanta-area building and construction professionals, who have donated their expertise, skills, and materials to the project.

Education and empowerment are critical components of the services The Drake House provides to homeless mothers and their children, and the two-story addition will be the site of a Teen Center and Mom’s Classroom, where expanded education and support programs will take place.

Since the groundbreaking, in mid-November, the donated OxBlue construction camera has been capturing the build.

“We love having the time-lapse camera,” said Kathy Swahn, executive director of The Drake House. “It enables us to share our progress with all our constituents – our board of directors, advisory council, and volunteers. As a grassroots non-profit organization, we depend on community support and this is the perfect way to share our good news.”

Builder Vince Longo echoed appreciation of the on-site construction webcam. “It’s my eyes on the ground. When I was out of town and there were questions, I was able to take a look at the job site. It makes me feel more secure, and the time-lapse movie is going to be great.”

OxBlue construction cameras come with all hardware, cellular data connection, and intuitive tools, including a user interface that enables remote job site monitoring from computers and mobile devices. Access to live cameras can be made public, allowing everyone interested in a project to follow progress. Every system also provides two types of high-definition construction time-lapse videos: movies of an active project that are automatically generated by the camera’s time-lapse technology, and a movie of the completed project that is professionally edited and produced.

“We love having the time-lapse camera. It enables us to share our progress with all our constituents – our board of directors, advisory council, and volunteers.”

–Kathy Swahn, Executive Director, The Drake House

“We’re really happy to be part of the project and support the important work that The Drake House does,” said Chandler McCormack, CEO of OxBlue. “It feels good knowing our camera is helping them promote their mission and contributing to a quality build.”
