HOW HIGHER EDUCATION MANAGES PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS

What went into Balfour Beatty’s decision to use a time-lapse construction camera on the Cross Village student housing project? Several factors weighed heavily in their minds, but one stood out from the rest: keeping stakeholders involved. These individuals wanted the reassurance that the project reports were accurate, and with time-lapse visuals, they received that added peace of mind.

“[OxBlue] is a huge help with the many project stakeholders. Our projects are public-private partnerships (P3’s). These partnerships include our development team who are scattered across the country, the non-profit owners, and investors, bond holders, and trustees who all want to have the comfort that progress reported is accurate. We share the link with all of those parties so they can peek in on the project as needed.” — David Vogt, Project Executive at Balfour Beatty

Stakeholders had multiple ways to stay updated with the Cross Village project. They received weekly emails with a time-lapse of the progress and they could look into the project as needed with online access to the job site. No one missed out on a single detail due to the constant connection to the project.

Thanks to OxBlue technology, everyone involved stayed informed without having to wait on third-party reports or stepping foot on the job site. By the end of the project, they viewed more than 450,000 photos and saved hundreds of hours in creating reports by granting stakeholders access to Cross Village through an online application.
